How to do it
- Open your arms with a slight bend in the elbows without straining your shoulders.
- Lower in a wide arc until you feel your chest stretch, without going past shoulder line.
- Close as if hugging a tree, elbows at the same angle.
Common mistakes
- Locking your elbows out under load.
- Going lower than your shoulder tolerates.
- Turning it into a press by bending your elbows on the way up.
