Typical: 3–4 sets of 6–12. For strength, 3–6 with solid form and long rests.
How to do it
- Back on the bench, press the dumbbells over your chest.
- Shoulder blades together and feet planted; lower until the dumbbells are beside your chest.
- Press them together without clanking, wrists over elbows.
Common mistakes
- Lowering with your elbows flared all the way out.
- Letting one dumbbell get ahead of the other.
- Dropping the dumbbells at the end instead of bringing them to your thighs.
