AI calorie counter online: just type what you ate
Fituba turns a message like “2 eggs, 2 slices of toast and a latte” into calories, protein, carbs and fat. No searching a food database, nothing to download, and free during the beta.
How it works
- Type or say what you ate. The way you'd tell someone. Amounts, brands, drinks and cooking oil help. You can put several meals from the day in one message.
- The AI picks out foods and portions. Then Fituba does the math in code: it uses your label values if you type them, or a reference of 1,000 generic USDA foods.
- Review and fix. Each food shows the portion it assumed; change it if it's off.
- Compare with your goals. Your day adds up calories and macros against your goals, and your 7-, 30- and 90-day charts update on their own.
A real calculation example
You type: “Had 150 g grilled chicken breast, 1 cup of white rice and 2 corn tortillas.”
Illustrative calculation with USDA references. In the app you'll see a similar breakdown, editable per food.| Food | Calories | Protein | Carbs | Fat |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Grilled chicken breast, 150 g | 242 kcal | 45.3 g | 0 g | 5.3 g |
| Cooked white rice, 1 cup (158 g) | 204 kcal | 4.2 g | 44.2 g | 0.4 g |
| Corn tortillas, 2 (56 g) | 122 kcal | 3.2 g | 25 g | 1.6 g |
| Total | 567 kcal | 52.7 g | 69.2 g | 7.3 g |
The total is added before rounding. Look up each food in the calorie chart.
Why it's faster than searching food by food
- One message instead of a dozen searches. You don't pick every food and serving from a list.
- Food and exercise together. “Had tacos and ran 3 miles” logs both.
- Repeat without using AI. Save your go-to meals and log them again with one tap.
- Manual when you already know the values. Copy the label and you're done.
- Nothing to download. It works in the browser on your phone, tablet or computer.
How accurate is it?
The AI estimates what you describe; it doesn't weigh your food. With grams, ounces, cups, pieces or the product label, the result gets closer. If something's missing, Fituba shows its assumption so you can fix it. A home recipe or restaurant dish always needs a review. How we calculate.
How to count calories without obsessing
- Log right after you eat: you remember amounts better.
- Don't forget oil, dressings and drinks: they add up more than you'd think.
- Look at the week's trend, not a single day.
- Save the meals you repeat: tomorrow's log takes seconds.
FAQ
Is Fituba's calorie counter free?
Yes. During the beta it includes 10 AI logs per account per day, subject to availability. Manual entries and saved meals don't use AI.
Does it understand home cooking and restaurant dishes?
Describe dishes the way you'd say them, like a burrito bowl or chicken stir-fry. Fituba estimates the ingredients and portions and shows its assumptions; for home-cooked or restaurant food it's worth reviewing them.
Can I log by voice?
Yes. Dictate your message with the browser mic or your keyboard's dictation; availability depends on the device.
Do I need to weigh my food?
No. Cups, pieces, tablespoons or sizes like small, medium and large all work; ounces, grams and nutrition labels get the estimate closer.
Does it scan barcodes or photos?
Not yet. If you have the label, copy its values into Manual or use the portion calculator.
