Assisted dip machine
Triceps · machine. Kneel on the pad, grip the parallel bars and lower by bending your elbows back.

Main muscle: Triceps
Also works: chest · shoulders
Equipment: machine
Typical: 3–4 sets of 6–12. For strength, 3–6 with solid form and long rests.
How to do it
- Kneel on the pad, grip the parallel bars and lower by bending your elbows back.
- Lower until your upper arms are parallel to the floor or as far as your shoulders feel comfortable.
- Press up by straightening your elbows without locking them; more weight on the machine means more help.
Common mistakes
- Going too low and straining the front of your shoulder.
- Flaring your elbows out on the way down.
- Letting your shoulders sink toward your ears at the bottom.
Alternative
No equipment, or want to switch it up: Cable triceps pushdown (bar).
